United Labels AG: United Labels expects strong second half-year

Muenster (pta022/21.08.2023/15:30) - United Labels AG (ISIN: DE 0005489561), one of Europe's leading brand manufacturers in the media/entertainment sector, expects a strong second half-year in the 2023 fiscal year and thus an improvement on the previous year's results.

In the first six months of the 2023 financial year, United Labels generated consolidated sales of EUR 13.3 million (previous year: EUR 14.4 million). The slight decline in sales resulted from the distribution of customer promotions before and after the reporting date. This shift in orders led to a decline in Group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) by EUR 0.5 million to EUR 1.1 million. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 1.0 million (previous year: EUR 1.5 million), while Group net profit was EUR 0.6 million (previous year: EUR 1.2 million), which corresponds to a return on sales of 4.7%.

The order backlog as of 30 June 2023 amounted to EUR 10.4 million (previous year: EUR 14.1 million), whereby numerous customer orders are not expected until the third quarter, compared to previous years. Despite this postponement of orders, the company still expects growth in sales and earnings in 2023 as a whole. In the 2022 financial year, United Labels achieved sales of EUR 22.3 milion and EBITDA of EUR 1.1 million.

Peter Boder, CEO of United Labels AG, is optimistic: "I am convinced that we have a strong second half of the year ahead of us. This is already becoming apparent. Therefore, I am confident that we will exceed the previous year's figures for sales and earnings in the full year 2023."
