Moscow (pts010/03.07.2020/10:10) - The rapidly advancing digital transformation holds both opportunities and risks, especially in the banking sector. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has therefore had its information security management system (ISMS) audited and certified according to ISO/IEC 27001:2013 . The TÜV AUSTRIA certificate independently confirms that EDB's ISMS effectively protects their US 9,225 billion investment portfolio.

The complex EDB information security management system concerns all the bank's project operations, including all types of lending and financing. Chairman of the EDB Management Board, Andrey Beliyaninov , emphasised EDB's commitment to confidentiality, integrity and accessibility: "We have asked the independent certification body TÜV AUSTRIA to put our ISMS through the test. Now the positive audit results confirm the overall security, continuity and reliability of our operations." Rudolf Lukavsky, Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian Embassy in Russia , accordingly praised EDB's compliance with the best international practices.

An ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification improves a company's business stature. By meeting all the standard's extensive requirements, the Eurasian Development Bank positions itself as a reliable partner institution, according to Andrei Tchernei, Attaché for Science & Technologies at the Austrian Embassy in Russia : "The Eurasian Development Bank has demonstrated its ability to protect, monitor, support and improve its information security management system."

The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard allows companies and organizations of any size and from any industry to prepare for acute threats such as hacker attacks, global virus attacks, unpredictable data loss and general misuse of confidential information that underpins important business operations. Dmitry Yartsev, general manager of TÜV AUSTRIA Group's subsidiary in Russia , considers ISO 27001 and EDB's need for appropriate security management measures a perfect match: "The Eurasian Development Bank's TÜV AUSTRIA certificate guarantees the trust of stakeholders, business associates and clients."
